It’s best not to think of it as “us”. But yes, the order of the entry of the Lights is so that the lowest intensity Light enters first, into the purest Kli, and the greatest Light enters lasts, and ends up in the purest Kli.

You need to clarify the question yourself, down to a one-sentence question with a question mark at the end. Then it’s a question.

You’re right, the Restriction is a law, and so it would seem we’re able to breach it – that’s why ours is called the imaginary world. We’re convinced that we can receive. That conviction is what drives our lives. Later, the accountant will come  and show us that we made all the wrong calculations. We did not receive, and if we would’ve aimed each moment towards the attainment of spirituality, instead of aiming at the mirage of reception we would’ve attained a true, beautiful, eternal life while still in this world.

    Hi Jonathan,

Understanding, for Kabbalists, means the quality of Bina. That is, to understand is only if I actually reach this quality of the Upper Force.

But there’s also a benefit to the type of understanding you’re talking about, which is that I’m using my mind to try to feel and connect to the material, the effort awakens the Reforming Light, and bit by bit I feel I have more to grasp onto. And that shouldn’t lead me to be satisfied that I understand but it gives me more grip in the study so that I’ll be able to draw even more Reforming Light. Meaning I’ll be able to sit in the study and awaken more and more of these qualities that exist in my soul.

That’s a good question, you’re thinking is right, but no on (a). Malchut revealed her nature in the world of Eyn Sof, that it was utter reception without a shred of bestowal. But it’s not that she knows she’s doing wrong and she nevertheless continues. And moreover there is no wrong in this situation. From the Upper Force’s point of view, there’s no need for Tzimzum (Restriction). Seemingly she could go ahead and receive just like that, anything you want granted, no limitations. The Restriction is called “adornment” – that is, something not necessary. But later there will be the process of correction, restrictions, forbidden, and evil.

    (b) Even though it seems that here we are discussing states that are so far away from us that they reach up the entire spiritual latter, what’s written in the Preface which we’re discussing in this course is actually very close, in that in it is a remedy that builds our soul on the first spiritual degree. Specifically Shame though is not right next to us. Shame, it’s written, is reserved for the great righteous. You’ll be very happy to reach such a state. And of course you’ll need to be equipped with something called Faith Above Reason to enter any degree that is above the one we’re given from birth because the Upper World is not like anything you understand and you can’t access it any way you know how, but I don’t know what Faith Above Reason is right now because it’s not part of this particular course.
