    Beyond Altruism, Mimicking the Creator

Intriguing questions about the nature of altruism surfaced today. It’s clear that egoistic desires can be limiting, but even seemingly selfless acts can have a hidden yearning for recognition or a rush of good feelings.

However, the idea I explored today goes beyond that. There’s a possibility of a higher form of altruism, one that isn’t driven by personal pleasure, but by creating an equivalent thinking like the creator.

Mimicking the Creator (Concept): Here’s where the analogy of a creator comes in. Imagine a source of unconditional love and care. We can emulate such behavior by fulfilling our roles and responsibilities, even those not of our own choosing.

My experience with my family exemplifies this. Although I sided with my brothers in their disagreements with our parents, a sense of responsibility led me to support my parents anyway. The focus wasn’t on personal satisfaction from giving, but on fulfilling a perceived duty. A Duty that’s natural, as I have not chosen my parents but they are assigned to me. This aligns with the concept of mimicking the creator – acting with care and love, not because of personal choice, but because it’s the inherent responsibility in the grand scheme of things.

The Essence of True Altruism: This leads to an interesting twist. The pleasure, in this case, wouldn’t come from the act of altruism itself. Instead, the satisfaction would arise from achieving an equivalence of form with the creator’s. In other words, the joy stems from aligning our thinking and actions with the creator’s, not from the act of giving or helping.

Is Faith Below Reason or Above Reason?
The question of faith has been swirling in my mind today. Is it simply believing in something unseen, a blind acceptance of the Creator’s existence? Can a true connection be built on this foundation alone?

The idea of believing for personal gain – “what’s in it for me?” – seems to cheapen the concept of faith. If we approach the Creator solely for rewards or to avoid punishment, is that true faith at all? Perhaps it’s just another manifestation of ego, a veiled form of self-interest. This kind of faith, driven by self-serving desires, feels like it falls below reason. It prioritizes immediate gratification over a deeper understanding.

True faith, I believe, transcends the limitations of reason. It’s a deeper knowing, a sixth sense that allows us to perceive the Creator’s purpose woven into the fabric of existence. This faith allows us to connect with the divine light, not for personal gain, but to fulfill a deeper purpose, a purpose that goes beyond our egotistical desires.

The Creator’s essence is far beyond the human capacity to comprehend. Our senses and understanding of the world limit us. However, a spark resides within our hearts, a spark that, cultivated by faith, allows us to begin to glean glimpses of the divine purpose.

By nurturing our altruistic desires to connect with something greater than ourselves, we move closer to experiencing the Creator’s light. This journey isn’t about blind belief, but about cultivating a connection with the Creator’s purpose. It’s an exploration of both the universe and ourselves.

    Fellow Seekers,

Suffering stems not from the world, but from our endless desires. We chase fleeting pleasures, lost in the ego’s whispers. Yet, a brighter path exists, a path towards the Creator’s light within us.

Together, let’s break free. Instead of “what’s in it for me?”, let’s ask “how can I serve?”. Imagine the power of kindness, a world where we uplift each other.

Here’s what I wish for us: Open hearts, quiet minds, and actions fueled by receiving with the intention of giving.

Together, let’s become vessels for the light. One act of kindness at a time, we can create a brighter future.

    Onward,

    A fellow seeker

Unveiling the Root of Suffering and Cultivating the Light Within

A truth dawned on me today, simple yet profound. The root of our suffering lies not in external circumstances, but within our own minds. When our ego takes the reins, it bombards us with desires fueled by the incessant question, “what’s in it for me?” These desires, born from our egoistic nature, promise finite pleasures.

We chase them relentlessly, like a dog chasing its tail. But the fulfillment of these desires is a double-edged sword. If we fail to reach them, we suffer the sting of disappointment. And even if we do achieve them, the pleasure they offer is fleeting, quickly dissolving into a yearning for the next thing. This cycle of desire and dissatisfaction keeps us tethered to the future, pulling us away from the richness of the present moment.

Is this the trap we’re destined for? A life perpetually chasing fleeting satisfactions? Deep within, a different yearning stirs, a whisper of something greater. It’s a yearning that transcends the limitations of our five senses. It’s a soul’s yearning for connection with the Creator, a spark within us demanding a reunion with the light from which it originated.

This awakening ignites a transformation. As we loosen the grip of the ego and cultivate a more altruistic perspective, the world around us shifts. We look deep into the suffering of our lives, and we find moments where we can make things better. Perhaps a helping hand for someone in need, a kind word to uplift a spirit, or a simple act of compassion. In these acts of giving, we begin to experience a deeper sense of connection, a fulfillment that transcends the fleeting pleasures of the ego.

Reason, governed by the five senses, can only take us so far. True fulfillment lies in cultivating this spiritual desire, nurturing love and acceptance within ourselves. This journey is a constant exploration, a path towards a life less controlled by desires and more illuminated by the light of the Creator.
