ParticipantSimply, that I need to reach into myself, through the power of haShem, thereby enabling my actions to go beyond myself… it is up to me to improve the world, as least in my realm. Spiritual development is a lifelong process and the principles of kabbalah can aid me in living my life to the fullest.

ParticipantWhile looking at the 613 commandments (Mitzvot) as merely correcting our desires; and I believe there is a spiritual component to that… I truly believe that is revealed with physical actions… how do we reconcile the spiritual with the physical?

ParticipantWhilst the answer desired is bestowing what is received. Yet… HaShem bestows to us what we could never return… bestowing that love and kindness to others is a command from the Torah… “to love our neighbor as yourself.” Yet, to bestow the love we have received is not always welcomed by secular and ill hearted people… trying to create a kumbaya is idealistic at best, yet a laudable goal.

ParticipantWe can think about the concepts of creating “tikkun olam” and getting outside of ourselves but it seem to me that the only true way is to get in touch with the creator. To return to gan eden and live in the bliss of HaShem’s presence is a lofty goal but I don’t believe we can achieve that as humanity… only a those in touch with the spiritual (the creator/haShem). There are too many heathen, animalistic people in the world that can not and will not change. So (question)… even if we work on our own spirituality… do you honestly believe that the rest of the world will be affected? Isn’t that idealistic and unachievable?
I just work on myself… to make myself, my family and friends happier. And that is even difficult.

Participantלֹא-תִקֹּם וְלֹא-תִטֹּר אֶת-בְּנֵי עַמֶּךָ וְאָהַבְתָּ לְרֵעֲךָ כָּמוֹךָ אֲנִי יְהֹוָה׃
“You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against your countrymen. Love your neighbor as yourself: I am the Lord”
I pray that we all begin to realize we are flawed and need haShem in our lives. If we live in His mitzvot… living together in harmony can be achieved. I pray that we all find/receive that awareness… until then the world is broken… it is up to us to Tikkun Olam (repair the world).

ParticipantI apologize for the lack of communication… I had extensive shoulder surgery this week and have been out of commission. My deep understanding of my life and the forces working in the world were evident. As I age, I still like to think I am still the special forces sergeant that is 29 years old… well, I am retired and as I age my abilities are becoming limited… hence my surgery… I’m not young… forces of nature assured me… in that I have gained a clarity in human limitations… oh but the spiritual… If it were not for haShem, I would not have mentally been prepared for the physical battle I have endured this week and over a career. Prayer and connecting to the spiritual is my strong hold. Thanks for understanding my lack of participation…
