Hi, I’m Paul, living in Greece. I’m hoping to continue the spiritual journey I started 6 months ago and to put the amazing teaching into practice, as well as learning more deeply.
PaulParticipantFirst, a huge thank-you to Julian and all the others who must have played roles in developing this program.
I was inspired by Julian’s very clear & heartfelt instruction and fund the simple illustrations worked well for me. I loved the practice workshop, it really helped solidify and make tangible what “doing the work” comprises and the immediate impact it produces. I feel home at last, after 50 years of drifting from one spiritual approach to another and I have huge confidence in both the teaching path and the teachers, who have walked ahead of us and clearly have our spiritual progress as their focus. I’m very humbled at your care!
I have learned a couple of unpleasant things about myself; several of my egoistic tendencies surfaced as I reflected on all we are learning and monitored my feelings more closely in various social settings. Lots to work on but I’m very committed & confident to push on.
I wish my fellow students to have a strong will to continue and to push through the inevitable doubts I’m sure our egos will throw at us. And that Kabbalah will make a very real and lasting impact on our views of reality, the Creator and our fellow souls on this planet.

1 What is the relevance of the title “Everyone has a Story” to module 5.3? It seems to me that the central idea here is how to build a second nature that I just don’t have. Am I missing something?
2 At the very end of the 5.4 module Julian said 2 things that I’m struggling to reconcile: “when you’re doing the spiritual work, don’t think of your friends, and definitely don’t pray for yourself, because the concern and the success of your friends, that will be your success.” How do I not think of my friends and yet be concerned for their success? Aren’t I constantly focused on them and praying for their spiritual success, lifting them up above myself?
PaulParticipantBoth the physical world and the spiritual worlds are already inside me; I just can’t sense the spiritual until I change something in my perception … my ability to develop a desire/intention to behave like the Creator … an intention to bestow what I receive from Him back to Him alone (Lishma). However this is impossible for me to do alone since I’m stuck in my desire to receive for myself alone. The group of friends provides the power/strength for me to receive such an intention in unison with the total group as each of us forgets him/herself and focuses on the collective desire to bestow to each other. This connection in a common altruistic goal creates a place for the Creator/Light to be revealed in our midst through our equivalence of (altruistic) form. Thus we all begin to perceive the new larger reality where the physical and spiritual coexist. Since we’re initially grounded in the physical this is the equivalent of transforming the physical to the spiritual. The Creator makes all of this possible by attracting us to the Group, helping us to collectively rise above our egoistic natures to bestow to each other, and providing Himself/the Light to open our 6th sense to the spiritual reality that has always been there, but hidden from us.

My feelings were deeply aroused as I listened to their experiences and my desire to attend greatly increased. I get the sense that the main difference between these conferences and normal non-spiritual large group events is the spiritual intent, practical components/practice interspersed with the lessons, including everyone volunteering to serve according to their gifts. We truly do get out of life what we invest into it!
