Part I of the course framed my earlier reading about Kabbalah by authors such as Gershom Scholem, Rabbi David Cooper, Moses Maimonides, and Will Parfitt in a totally unexpected way. I was enamored of all the descriptions and discussion of of G-d, the Etz Chaim, and the Sephirot, and missed entirely the underlying truth. We are designed entirely to receive. As mortals we struggle to exist in a competitive world, but there is the pathway of kabbalah to godliness to attain equivalence of form with the will of the Creator entirely to bestow. The incentive is to tone down our mortal pleasures and attain the higher and ineffable pleasure of bestowal.
Now I expect to learn and apply additional essential principles of thought and conduct to move toward equivalence of form.

I wont go into the details of what I have partially received there,… but I see parallels with the current explanation of the four phases of spiritual light transmission and reception. In the received sense, bestowal=transmission; reception=reception like a radio receiving a broadcast.. Am I oveer-iagining or should I just compartmentalize and learn to love and apply what’s in each “silo”?
WendiParticipantI wish for my fellow students to experience His Light as egoist Bill received when the Creator entered his heart in 1983 to take steps to end the Cold War. Bill carried out the steps of His plan, and ultimately witnessed the fruition of His plan on Christmas Day, 1991. The 90’s saw a flourishing of good relations between old adversaries, but then Bill saw the crushed heart of Mikhail Gorbachev and the events of 9/11, and the Gulf wars that followed. There was only one Super Power left, the US. Bill became very sad and guilt-ridden. But now KabU is helping Bill achieve equivalence of form and I urge all fellow students to take on great and noble projects. There are many to be undertaken. Each of us has in his and her heart a new and grand project to undertake. Go for it!
