Hi Jj, This refers to either a state in Eyn Sof, after the 4 Phases of Direct Light, or a very high spiritual degree when one is awarded a similar state from below up. Because we, in our current state, lack all the components that give rise to Shame in Malchut. Shame resulted from the feeling of the Creator (we lack such a feeling), that He is the bestower (of course we also lack this sensation), that there’s no universe and other people like we feel, but rather it’s just me, the receiver in order to receive, and Him, the force of pure love an bestowal. In fact, we lack even the sensation that we are truly receivers through and through, which is the only thing that is called ‘evil’ since it is opposite to the Creator’s quality. Therefore, we have no reason to feel shame, and we also can’t move towards anything that might cause that sensation to arise. In fact, we live our whole lives only in order to avoid that feeling, due to the entire reality we feel being the result of that high root of spiritual shame. So, we have to begin gradually, in a group, to begin building the inner discernments, to approach gently the concept that There Is None Else Besides Him filling the whole reality. It starts only as an axiom, but later we’ll attain it, when we can handle it. And still later, in a pleasant way, we’ll discover what actions we need to do back to Him in order to not feel shame per se, but to use the shame as a guide-post that helps us navigate only to use our desire in a form that will be equivalent with that all-inclusive singular force of bestowal that we reveal.
No, those pleasures the Creator isn’t interested in. He didn’t create this world for you to enjoy. It’s only to develop you. Like how a good parent only provides the child experiences with an eye to his development. Also, the period of babyhood for humanity is ending, and so there are no more states on the horizon that we would’ve called “good”. That “good” which you like a small child call good, like when a child says he’d eat cake and watch tv all day, the Creator hates. The Creator is only interested in His definition of good, that each moment we’ll move closer to bestowal, and that means, first, closer to the connection with others that leads to connection with the Creator. It’s actually a restriction on the desire for any self-benefit one can imagine. Later, later, and so much later that it’s useless to bother with it right now, there is the opening of the desire (and those are much deeper than any one can now even fantasize about) and the desires are all used in order to bestow but that’s as useless to think about now as talking about one’s next next next incarnation. One has first very serious devoted work in connection with others according to the advice of Kabbalists.
Usually we don’t find others in our physical environment who have the inclination for the path we study here, the method of Baal HaSulam. Rather those friends are strewn across the globe. And anyway, the work is all internal, even if you would have people physically around you; nevertheless you have the same work of exiting yourself towards some external reference points (friends on the same path as you). About this is all that the wisdom of Kabbalah and the book of Zohar write about, and what’s discovered when one does so. Therefore, the practice in how to do that is what is needed. And this is what we learn in the graduate program and beyond.
It actually doesn’t matter here. You will understand later, when you understand what the whole method requires, why the Baal Shem Tov paid a drunk musician to play for him and uplift his mood so that he could make spiritual ascent. You can pay actors to act according to the principles we study here and you can ascend by that. No problem. Therefore, I don’t care if the friends are real or not. If they are willing to play this game, which is against the ego, for free, and they are even paying to be here, that’s good enough for me. Also, no, from what I know about human nature, without a true Point in the Heart that pushes them to be here from inside, one will not find the inner fuel to remain here. One has to have this inner attraction to reaching the source of life, the goal of Creation.

You’re seeing video from Israel maybe? At KabU we’re all together, men and women. And in the Grad Program we’ll all be on one Zoom and sometimes do breakout rooms together, however the man and the woman, though the reach the same goal, have different work they need to do to unite and thus reach that goal. Meaning men have to unite with men, in their style, which whether they know it or not, is completely different from the style in which women unite. Like in an atom you have parts that have this charge, which unite together in a circle, and parts that have that charge and unite in their own field, in the group too you have those who are charged like this and those charged like that. They can change all their skin and organs, and this inner immutable essence will remain eternally. Therefore, when doing the serious inner work, we’ll be together but in our own circles. And then we unite as two group like the protons and electrons form an atom, and we form together Adam HaRishon.
