ParticipantThe first step is awareness. Awareness of our own qualities, awareness of the Creator and His qualities. Awareness of our lacking in the qualities of the Creator. Then we can begin to get in touch with this force through the process of refining ourselves and bringing our qualities closer to that of the Creator’s.
Consciousness is awareness, and as we increase our level of awareness in various aspects, our consciousness will be equally lifted.

ParticipantMy wish for my fellow students is that we continue to strive for knowledge and understanding of the creator.
I wish for us to search for lessons and opportunities for growth in our daily lives that will lead us to a more complete understanding of the thought of creation. Every moment is an opportunity to grow closer to the Creator.
Every feeling and every desire can be used through implementation of proper intention, that is the intention to bestow, to transmute ourselves into the likeness of the Creator.-Lux

ParticipantI have a question regarding attributes of the creator. It seems that within us is a desire to reduce, minimize, alleviate, or even eradicate suffering, at least as much as possible. This desire seems to be altruistic at its core.
I cannot speak for others, but I myself have become very focused on this and it seems to be my driving force. However, it seems that from the lesson that suffering is an integral part of the process and not necessarily “evil”.
If naturally the will to relieve or reduce suffering is within us, at least once we awaken it, then would this not be in-line with the attributes of the Creator, which is unconditional altruism?
However, if it is in the Creator’s nature to create a system that includes suffering, and it is in our nature to try and rise above this by minimizing the suffering we see in the world, then how would this contradiction be harmonized?
Any thoughts on or deeper exploration of this idea would be much appreciated.
Thank you,

ParticipantI have always had an innate sense that a lot of western culture and egocentric mentality is a false path to fulfillment. Through helping others and investing my heart and soul into others, which I do in my life everyday, I have come to a much better understanding of my life’s purpose. I believe this is also in-line with most of what we have learned in the first two weeks.

ParticipantWe want to be guided to a new perception rather than our old, personal perception of reality. In fact, I would argue that we are not looking to have a “new perception” but rather a true understanding of reality.

ParticipantI very much relate to the idea that we reflect the qualities of the creator when we embody love, care, and altruism.
It is important to recognize the difference between egotistic “altruism” and true altruism, one being a quality of the creator that helps bring us closer to unison and the other being a psychologically self-serving act. False altruism can very much seem like the real thing, and often times takes a great deal of personal experience and suffering to understand and implement its genuine form.
