I understand that there is not something inherently wrong with me, I am not broken, I have just been choosing the path of suffering for a long time.

After reading the recommended texts I view my struggles very differently than I have before. Since I was a kid I have felt empty and sought for meaning, this led me to years and years of addiction. I’ve always looked at the addiction and the “hole in my heart”, as something wrong, but it was in fact, a reshimo, right? After now being sober for three years, a new kind of emptiness has occurred, and I have been trying to fill it by seeking knowledge about the abstract, using my reasoning mind. This ultimately led me to anxiety and panic attacks, which I interpreted as failure, but I guess this is yet another reshimo?
This is all so exciting! I am very grateful to be here, thank you for your service.May 6, 2024 at 4:43 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: To what perception of reality do we want the study of Kabbalah to lead us? #371250JohannaParticipantTo the perception of the bigger picture, true reality, free from the constrains of limiting beliefs and egoism that results in suffering.

Instead I now wonder about the term “the recognition of evil”, why is it referred to as evil when it is in fact part of natures plan for us to realize something greater by experiencing separation and egoism? There is nothing to be protected from it is said, does this mean evil is meant to be experienced, it serves a purpose and is in fact a part of the good, not something to be protected from?April 28, 2024 at 12:50 pm EDT in reply to: Ask anything about week 1 lesson and materials and get an answer from a senior Kabbalah instructor. #370612JohannaParticipantHi! Thank you for this lesson. In the video it is described how the souls during the time of Abraham were a bit more refined than the “modern” souls, and that something happened that made this shift occur. I wonder, what happened with the souls and why, why did we become less all of a sudden?
