KimParticipantWho am I to know the mind and perception of God? And yet in Genesis 1, we are told that God’s perception of the world is that it is good (tov). We are also told that we are made in the “image and likeness” of God. We also know that God desires that we know Him and seek Him. So as we draw closer to God, we become better able to perceive things as God does and not as man does. In the end, perhaps it’s just as simple as perceiving everything with sheer love and perceiving everything as completely good–no matter what our finite senses tell us otherwise.

Once the goal is defined, you will continue to refine it to keep yourself perfectly aimed at the target. How would you currently define the goal for which you are studying? #385809
KimParticipantI have only one purpose, and that is to reunite with the Creator. Kabbalah and Torah study point the way.
August 24, 2024 at 7:27 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: What is freedom and how, by the help of the Reforming Light, can we acquire it? #385439
KimParticipantFreedom comes when we realize we are not victims of our circumstances or surroundings. When we surrender ourselves to the Reforming Light, we can rest assured that everything that comes our way has been permitted by our Creator and meant only for our good. Freedom comes when we experience and truly understand that there is only One–only the One Creator–and nothing else.
KimParticipantThe idea makes sense to me intellectually. What’s hard, though, is actually understanding it in an experiential way. That’s going to take a lot of practice!

KimParticipantBest experience: realizing that the Creator has set up an entire playground for us to learn how to be like Him. In this grand cosmic game, He plays hide and seek with us and puts us as “far away” and as “opposite of him” as possible so that we can play the game of coming back to Him, finding Him, and realizing that we are already, and have always been, just like Him.
August 21, 2024 at 11:37 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: How can we get in touch with the upper force and act with it mutually? #385199
KimParticipantWe learn by doing. We begin to understand by imitating and then practicing. First, we imitate the Creator even if we’re not sure why we’re doing any of this or how to do it. But it’s really not that hard: what does the Creator do? He gives and gives and gives, unceasingly. So what can I do to be like the Creator? I, too, start giving. I stop thinking about what I should be getting and, instead, start giving. I start slowly at first, like learning how to walk, and then advance steadily. To whom and how can I give? It’s easy: to everyone, and as often as possible. And then as I practice doing this, over and over and over, it gets easier and easier. And our Creator, our perfect teacher, watches. When I’m ready for something more challenging, it will be provided. Once we can walk, then our Creator will show us how to run, and then how to sprint. 🙂
