There was a feeling during both that I could only describe as similar to the transcendental calm of meditation. I think this was stronger during the Hebrew as when listening in English, I felt like my mind at times was bouncing between listening and affirming my intent.
May 5, 2024 at 10:35 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Prompt: What does transitioning from a self-centered perception of reality to one grounded in altruism entail? #371228Michael DunlapParticipantUltimately for me it is about being of service to others. By doing so I am still serving myself and receive benefit from it in the sense that my true self is the one that existed before the original creature fractured. By serving others I am serving and working towards the goal of the ultimate reunification.
May 2, 2024 at 9:27 pm EDT in reply to: Introduce yourself to your fellow students. Write a few words about yourself and about what you expect from the course. #371025Michael DunlapParticipantHi I’m Michael and I’m looking at furthering my studies of Kabbalah and discovering what lies inside me.
April 28, 2024 at 7:51 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: Congratulations on progressing through the intermediary stages of your Kabbalah learning by staring this new course! Since the wisdom of Kabbalah deals with developing our precious eternal part—the soul—it is important to take a moment to note your expectations from this stage of your journey, and later check back and see what aligned with or differed from your expectations, and how you might’ve changed in the process: What do you hope to get out of this course you’re now starting? #370648Michael DunlapParticipantI’m excited to continue to better recognise the challenges I encounter as opportunities for correction of my self that I may be of better service to others.
April 27, 2024 at 10:09 pm EDT in reply to: What was my best experience from the previous course? What do I expect from this course? #370566Michael DunlapParticipantThe biggest eye opener for me was an awareness of my response ability and how I can better act in situations rather than react egotistically. My growing ability to respond to others with the intent of bestowal has had a noticeable effect on many of the relationships in my life, which also has resulted in them being more pleasant and welcoming for me to be in as well.
April 22, 2024 at 7:57 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: If everyone must reach the ultimate goal, what is my role in the process? #370038Michael DunlapParticipantI return to last week’s video on Perception by Dr. Laitman, and in many senses I think my role in the processes is to project my image of a corrected world or even a world in the process of correction onto that blank canvas rather than defaulting to the algorithm that tells me what “reality” is. It goes beyond “be the change you wish to see in the world” and moves towards “see the change you wish to see in the world”. Rather than seeing a world at a current state of war, see the world moving towards peace. Instead of seeing a current state of famine or sickness, see the correction towards health and wellness.
