I would say that it involves extending love and altruism to others and the environment, relating with qualities of giving and bestowal. Through that, we feel a deeper sense of connection and begin to understand how we should relate to others, outside of the selfish drives of ego or self-gain.
July 20, 2021 at 9:41 pm EDT in reply to: Ask anything about week 1 lesson and materials and get an answer from a senior Kabbalah instructor. #58025Mira BrooksParticipantHi Julian,
In video 1.5, there is a quote provided by Rav Michael Laitman, “Connection is called that I don’t feel the difference between you and me. All in all, I don’t feel any difference. Simply, two become as one in everything. In an inner desire, there is no difference. I feel your desire as my desire, and it’s located within me. Not in your body, rather it’s in me. Bodies disappear and there is only one desire. This is a constant state that is called Adam. The system that is called Adam, two that are connected like this, this is already a part of Adam. We can say that it is Adam. And the more that people connect like this, it generates more details of this one soul. More accuracy, a better resolution, and more spiritual attainment”
What can we do to cultivate a greater feeling of connection with others? I can understand that this likely requires a high spiritual degree, and certainly something that I struggle with. It is easier to feel closer to people with similar desires that we have. How can I foster deeper connections with those that have desires and modes of thought that are very dissimilar?
July 18, 2021 at 10:00 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: Congratulations on progressing through the intermediary stages of your Kabbalah learning by staring this new course! Since the wisdom of Kabbalah deals with developing our precious eternal part—the soul—it is important to take a moment to note your expectations from this stage of your journey, and later check back and see what aligned with or differed from your expectations, and how you might’ve changed in the process: What do you hope to get out of this course you’re now starting? #57799Mira BrooksParticipantChange is inevitable, especially as we develop. Service to others and love of our fellow beings are vital. I would like to understand more about corrections and how we can help propel beneficial change in the world.
Through studies and desire for the right things, I hope to further develop the vessel or kli to receive the light and grow in spiritual understanding.
July 18, 2021 at 6:52 pm EDT in reply to: What was my best experience from the previous course? What do I expect from this course? #57788Mira BrooksParticipantIn the previous course, I really began to understand the importance of loving your neighbor as yourself and the unity that should exist between us. While many religions and disciplines of the past has taught this, how do we put this into practice? How do we transcend our egoistic inclinations? This is an important topic.
I look forward to fostering connections with others and look forward to learning more on the path. It will be great to also learn more about the application of Kabbalah in everyday life.
Mira BrooksParticipantThis course really helped expand further upon topics in Kabbalah such as the stages of spiritual development and that change needs to happen internally before being manifested in the outside world.
Through this process, I have begun to notice my ego more. There are many temptations in the outside world – Sometimes it feels as though TV programs and music encourage egoism to flourish. This is where I can recognize fully the importance of changing the environment to help our progress, especially how groups can help. In my everyday life, I feel more connected with others which is wonderful, though there is still so much more to learn.
My wish for others in the course alongside me is that we continue on the path. I wish much joy and happiness to everyone. It’s been great to see the questions and the connection of this group. May we all progress.
July 13, 2021 at 12:11 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: If everyone must reach the ultimate goal, what is my role in the process? #57241Mira BrooksParticipantI feel that I must rise in spirituality, become more altruistic, and gain a higher level of equivalence of form. Through this process, I would one day also like to share and spread information to those that are open and ready to receive it. I am far from this point just yet – but I do believe that a relationship with the creator should be for all. This great work is not only for my spiritual development, but the work that I do for others.
