MichaelParticipantFirst Semester Kabbalah Class Reflections
Over the course of this first semester, I’ve really found myself immersed in a lot of fascinating concepts: ideas like the upper world, the screen, the point in the heart, and the will to bestow have all become part of my vocabulary. At first, these were just abstract terms, but as I’ve gone along, I’ve grown more comfortable with them and started to understand how they interconnect—like pieces of a bigger spiritual puzzle.
One of the most challenging aspects for me has actually been more on the human side than the conceptual side. While I’m finding it easier to connect to these big spiritual ideas and the notion of a creator, it’s often harder to navigate the whole “connecting with other people” part. In today’s world, people can get on my nerves a bit, and working through that—seeing others as part of the same creation and interconnected journey—has been a real growth area. It’s definitely something I’m working on.
Overall, I’m really looking forward to seeing how this unfolds next semester and continuing to deepen my understanding.

MichaelParticipant“May all seekers of the Light through the study of Kabbalah find true connection to the Divine Light, and may their ultimate desire be fulfilled in alignment with that Light.”
BASICALLY- May all our desires for connection to the Light be fulfilled.

MichaelParticipant“I’ve heard you talk about working with a group of people, sometimes referred to as a group of ten, for study and spiritual work. Is this connected in any way to the traditional Jewish concept of a minyan? Why is this number significant in Kabbalah? And along with that, do Kabbalists generally keep kosher and observe other Jewish traditions, or is the focus more on the inner, spiritual aspects?”

MichaelParticipantI’ve come to see more clearly that everything is connected and held within a greater, guiding force. We’ve never been apart from it — only unaware. This journey feels like waking back up to that truth and learning to live with that awareness.

MichaelParticipantThank you so much for your response and the explanation about the use of the word “nature” in Kabbalistic teachings. It’s fascinating to see how these concepts bridge the physical and spiritual worlds. I do find, though, that sometimes words can feel limiting or inadequate when trying to capture the full depth of spiritual experiences. I feel that language can sometimes create barriers to a more intuitive or direct understanding of the divine. I’d love to hear more about how Kabbalah navigates these limitations and helps us connect beyond words.

MichaelParticipant“In many Kabbalistic teachings, I notice the word ‘nature’ is used when referring to spiritual concepts. I personally associate ‘nature’ more with the natural world around us, rather than the spiritual world. Could you explain why this term is chosen and how it connects the physical and spiritual realms in Kabbalah?”
