I would like to know more about GE and AHP. Can you please recommend some text to read? I have a copy of the book Kabbalah for the Student and access to the internet.
November 18, 2022 at 11:06 pm EST in reply to: Preparation Question: Our entire work in Kabbalah is only to attract the light that reforms. By this we receive everything we need for our advancement. Furthermore, I’m told that if I will help the others, I will advance myself even more towards spirituality. How does this work? What does it mean to help the others, those with the point in the heart, on the spiritual path? #304536RickiParticipant“The light” is an influence of the upper force. “Reforms” insinuates correction and movement toward equivalence of form. By participating and engaging with fellow points in the heart, kabbalistic texts and a guide/ teacher, we attract the light that reforms. If helping others accentuates the effects of the upper force, then there must be some element that is congruent with the creator’s quality. The creator’s quality is of bestowal, unconditional and unlimited fulfilment, connection, and love. When we aim to help friends, a few processes occur:
1. we recognize they are part of us, the one soul of Adam Ha-Rishon that was shattered, and it is our responsibility to aspire toward connection. We appreciate the friends as part of ourselves.
2. Despite our egoistic tendencies, we can work above the ego by utilizing the intention to bestow and faith above reason
3. By intending to bestow greatness to the friends, we emulate the quality of the upper light. By helping the friends progress along the spiritual path, we are all uplifted.September 28, 2022 at 7:11 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Prompt: Considering our journey thus far, how can we fortify our connection with the illuminating force? How do we amplify its transformative influence? #300914RickiParticipantWhen we have a great desire to become like the creator we attract surrounding light and the light which reforms. We can strengthen this desire by curating and engaging with an environment that aims toward the same goal, such as gathering with like-minded people, the right books and the right teacher. Though we may not initially understand or be confused about what we are learning, or feel uncomfortable emotions along the journey, as long as we are focused on correcting our ego and building an intention to recieve in order to bestow, a screen, as long as we keep returning to our burning desire to come into equivalence of form with creation, light surrounds us.

“Why do I feel ashamed that my point in the heart is an egoistic desire? My intellect tells me it should be altruistic but I can’t help but want others to help ME fulfil spirituality. It is shameful that I should want to exploit other people’s attention for my own benefit.”
It’s peculiar, funny, maybe ironic, that Julian then says that students tend to ask a question to a similar effect.
I suppose I’m on the right track…
September 6, 2022 at 11:59 pm EDT in reply to: Preparation Prompt: What does transitioning from a self-centered perception of reality to one grounded in altruism entail? #299432RickiParticipantto shift from an egoistic perception of reality to a perception based on bestowal means the process of learning how to correctly relate to nature above one’s ego and will to receive, all for the sake of Love. The shift implies there is a desire to come closer to the creator, and to obtain this one must adjust their intention to replicate His qualities.

I have knowledge about the qualities of the creator but it just seems odd to me that in practice I should not care primarily for fellow man but aim my goals toward the creator first… somehow this seems selfish, like the desire for knowing the creator is for my own gain? I’m quite confused…. I’ve just watched Julian’s lesson video 1.3
Maybe I’m asking too soon and my confusion will be resolved in the following videos but anyway some feedback would be appreciated, thank you
