hi. i’ve for a long time felt like i dealt with the problem of the concept of god simply by not thinking about it. and i understand why thinking about duality and the interactions of opposites is logical, and why the concept of unity expresses our desire. but i never understand where the idea that there is a creator and we are the created being comes from. why is the additional concept necessary?

i keep thinking that this idea that we have a point of freedom precisely in this aspect is also just an illusion, since tony says that the creator places us in the environment. i also remember in the beginning of the lesson where there’s like some distinction between when it’s all automatic and then at the end the creature has a choice… isn’t it still (all of it) automatic? are we though making a distinction of some kind between when we perceive it as free will, and therefore balance the “two lines” or something?
MichaelParticipantis having to go through the levels of desire (animal, wealth, etc.) before you reach the point in the heart the same as having everything you want in life before you can study kabbalah?
MichaelParticipanthow come kabbalists are always jewish. if it’s like a science that they just discovered and anyone can… do they become jewish?
MichaelParticipanti have been noticing in my life that when i deprive myself, i am more appreciative of life and everything. like a lot of stuff that you guys talk about, how you only have a need for the creator when things go bad. is there no value in creating situations like that for yourself?
