In the early 2010’s, I saw a History Channel series about how fragile our civilization is that a worldwide epidemic flu outbreak that incapacitated half of each industry’s workforce, including food stores and first responders could easily bring down our society completely, and then it showed how we would begin to come back up through necessity.
I have the history from my own parents living their teens and early married farm life during the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression, and World War II to tell me that things can appear grim and even hopeless, but one can come through them stronger.
For me, I look at AI, social media’s effect on children, the rollback of renewable energy projects, world health initiatives, growing landfills, and national debt, along with an aging population and a world that still seems far from understanding that we must work together or fall, and if I allowed a negative side of myself to prevail, I wouldn’t be able to stand up. However, like the young German soldier in All Quiet on the Western Front, I answer that “I must believe in God, because of all of this.”

Thank you for the course. It left me sitting here very confused, but it also left me sitting here with a sense of empowerment and humility and the same moment. Even with a sense of fear of what the Creator wants from us, ultimately.
George Carlin made the joke that, as an Irish Catholic kid, in order to stump a priest, he asked, “If God can do anything, can he make a rock so heavy that He himself can’t lift it?”
I have to consider something like this, but in a different direction. If the Creator had to go through so complicated a process to get to the point where He can even arrive at a starting point of our personal creation, He himself must be of such great glory and perfection, that He had to put this many firewalls between Himself and His creation, in order that we not be burned up straight away in His presence.
My motivation to continue studying, even when I can’t seem to understand the material, is to look at the end I want for myself, which is the same peace I see in those who have continued through the material before me, when they were at the point I’m at now. One day I hope my own peace and that of my friends will be the inspiration of those who are following.
At first, the question seemed rather difficult to answer, but then the answer came easily when I considered the direction into which we are always being pushed.
The situations which concealment would make seem more attractive are any in which collaboration with others or our group is necessary to uncover the light behind the intention fo the desire pushing it forward, because that is the intent of the Creator is for us to work together to uncover the light.
