What blows me away is the idea that, as spiritual growth advances, our ego keeps up, growing as we advance. And this is all part of the Plan, just the way the Creator wants it. It goes right back to the first lessons, when we learned that the one, collective soul had to be shattered so that we might all learn how to consciously put ourselves together again. That was the “macro” level. On the “micro” level, it’s a battle we all fight between spiritual growth and ego. But the really amazing thing is that this tit for tat, back and forth process is normal. It’s necessary. It’s the Plan. So I now have an entirely new perspective on my own egoism, as well as the much discussed epidemic of egoism/narcissism in today’s world. We’re in a rough place. Things look bad. But it had to get to this point. And now I know that, as terrible as the current state of the world seems to be, there WILL be a happy ending. In fact, the dark days we’re living in are proof of that. And thanks to Kabbalah, thanks to the Creator’s love, I feel prepared. With His help, we can do this people! We always could. It’s always been our destiny. We just didn’t know. But one by one, we’re waking up. We’re learning.

April 21, 2024 at 10:26 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: If everyone must reach the ultimate goal, what is my role in the process? #369916JamesMParticipantAs others have said, my role is to develop “my” point in the heart and in doing so, help “others” to do the same. In fact, however, there is no “me” or “mine” and there are no “others”. There is only the one, collective soul, which “we” are all in the process of consciously, intentionally becoming, one point in the heart at a time.

Makes me want to go back and read them again. Also like some others here, I’m hearing echoes of spiritual traditions I’ve followed earlier in this life – especially advaita vedanta. The idea that Reality/the World is not the problem, but that it is simply our misconception of it that is the issue, seems to be a common theme which is key to many genuine spiritual paths. Feeling this connection between paths I’ve studied in the past and this current course on Kabbalah makes me feel like the Creator has indeed been guiding me to exactly this point all along. For me, the questions, “What’s it all for/Why am I here?” are being answered, more and more clearly, little by little, with each passing day. I’m actually beginning to feel the progress Upwards – not just think about it or wish for it. I’m so grateful.
April 14, 2024 at 11:09 am EDT in reply to: Preparation Question: What does it mean to view reality from the perspective of the Creator? #369055JamesMParticipantThe parent/child analogy works well here. The Creator is a good parent and we are His children. Being the best possible parent, He only wants the very best for us. We, being children, don’t always understand His intention for us. As a result, we suffer. But that suffering is entirely due to our own misconceptions, not His parenting. As we grow and learn, we come to understand and appreciate all that He does for us and, as a result, we are truly happy. Naturally, as a loving father, the Creator is also happy when His children are happy. And He is especially joyful when His children understand WHY they are happy and express gratitude for all the Creator does for them.

Once the goal is defined, you will continue to refine it to keep yourself perfectly aimed at the target. How would you currently define the goal for which you are studying? #368239JamesMParticipantAs others have said, I want to see, know and be as close as possible to the Creator. Only then will I truly know my “self”.
