ParticipantI have understand that we are egoistic by nature we can only desire pleasure but not bestow as the creator does, but we can change this desire, by changing the intention of this desire.

ParticipantHello everyone.
When I try to change my intention from egoistic (the desire to receive) to altruistic (the desire to bestow), I find that even when I try to be altruistic, my intention often ends up being egoistic. For example, I might agree to do a favor for someone who asks me (which should be altruistic in intention), but I do it so that this person will like me or so that I can receive a favor from them in the future.
It seems that if I analyzed the intention deeply I found that most of them are ultimately egoistic.
How can an intention be totally altruistic, when I do it, in order for it to be altruistic (is this not some kind of manipulation?), so that I get attributes that are more similar to those of the Creator (The desire to bestow).
Thank you Seth.
