I’m struggling with the diagram used in video 3.3, at about the 6 minute mark, designed to convey the dynamic between my GE and the group’s AHD as I strive to connect with the unmet needs of the group. Try as I might, it doesn’t help me understand this concept at all. Is there another diagram or explanation that I could access to help me get the point? Thanks.
There is only Light that surrounds everything, but it is not able to penetrate/be attained by anything of non-equivalent form. This Light is the Desire to Bestow only good unbounded pleasure and fulfillment to all of creation. It reforms my desires, from being “only for myself” to being “only for others.” But for this to occur I need to exercise my Freedom of Choice over the only area that I actually have real freedom … the environment that I consciously place myself in to aid this reformation. This is the choice to have the right teacher (one who has gone before me and attained what I am seeking, and who has the desire to bestow upon me what he/she has attained), absorbing the right source teachings ( authentic Kabbalah texts), and entering the Lab (becoming a part of a group of like-minded seekers, committed to each others’ progress) to practice and verify that the process works as claimed. By doing so I can strengthen the influence of the reforming light by developing my faith in the process, above my normal worldly reasoning, and accelerate my spiritual development.
An egoistic perception of reality puts me at the center of anything that is happening … “what does this mean for me, is it threatening or beneficial?” A perception based on bestowal sees things from the Creator’s point of view … “this thing that I am orchestrating is for the benefit of My creation, all of it simultaneously, to bring every part to its intended purpose and goal.” If I can therefore step outside my own narrow and self-serving perspective I can open my self to glimpse a larger purpose for all the things that are happening around me. I can’t know or understand very much at the beginning but over time I will be given help from the Creator and other spiritual seekers, my teacher and the authentic texts to see more and more of this “hidden reality” … and in the process to transform from being so self-centered to care deeply about others and how I can help meet their needs. And as I do so I will bring pleasure to my Creator.
I hadn’t heard about the natural transition process before – birth, independence & war, cooperation & unity – and found it a great model of our human history/evolution and also personal development path. Provides a hopeful new way to view our current hyper-chaotic world state as an entry point to a new, higher state of global cooperation & unity. Let’s hope we don’t have to endure a prolonged bout of madness before we decide to get there! Nice to think our collective efforts in this course are already taking positive steps in the right direction! Thanks.
I desire to begin taking practical steps that help me suspend my questions and follow the method Kabbalists tell us will begin our transformation to having altruistic love for others. I know this isn’t possible through my own efforts so I look forward to receiving the Reforming Light to do so.
