When do a person perceive G-d as Shekinah and when as G-d and light?
- November 20, 2023 at 9:31 am EST #335402Chris – KabU InstructorModerator
Hey mrc,
The different impressions the Kli feels from the light are what distinguish within the creature different “names” of the Creator. “When” just has to do with one’s personal development and the root of their soul.

What is Shekinah?

Hey mrc,
This is the name of the Creator, the place where the Shochen is revealed–the Kli for His revelation. This is the right connections between us, the correct conditions between us for Him to be revealed.
Thanks!

Why can’t a homosexual couple achieve shechina between them?

Hey David,
It’s been asked a few times and there’s no clear answer. The Rav doesn’t ever really get into it and usually just answers with something like, “the light will do its work according to the desire of a person.”
The Kabbalists of the past don’t relate to it in any kind of detail which makes sense since Kabbalah really only deals with the spiritual correction of the ego, and this is also the answer we’ve heard from Rav many times.
This is just me speculating now, but wherever we are now at this time in history/human development it’s exactly where the Creator wants it and it’s what is necessary for our correction. As long as we’re acknowledging that He’s leading us at every step, then we should be aware that His guidance is purposeful and accept whatever He provides–whatever thoughts and desires and needs we feel are from Him and are goal-oriented. Besides that, I don’t think there’s any more to speculate. We just do the work and He will show us what we need to do at every step.
All the best!

Is heaven include the material or only the spiritual?

“Heaven” is what will occur between us when we are all fully corrected instead of the hell that exists while our egos rule us.

can the bad part want to hurt the good part within?
- November 17, 2023 at 11:40 am EST #335147Chris – KabU InstructorModerator
There is no “bad”, mrc. We constantly have to be reminded of None Else Besides Him. How He is sensed and how we interpret His actions depend on our own vessels. Therefore, no objective bad exists, so if you’re talking about the good and bad within you–first you need to acquire good (Masach and reflected light), then you will know the good and bad within you which is only the nature you were given vs the higher nature you ask for. The will to receive for one’s self is constantly looking to deviate us from the path.

Because better [is] Thy kindness than life, My lips do praise Thee. – psalms 63:3
what does it mean?

It’s pretty difficult to interpret King David since it’s probably the most emotional of all Kabbalistic writings. What King David attained and the words he used to convey the emotion is only something we can understand once we attain those same degrees.
