Wow! Jam packed session. You certainly saved the best for last! I think I now understand the emblem of the tree on the website everywhere. Or to be honest, maybe I do understand it: the Massach is the line dividing the tree and the root! Malkut is the root and the tree is “the society” (Benai Baruch); Spirituality is the fruit (Ohr Hozer -reflected light) where society grows. One has to do Tsim Tsum (restriction on their spiritual desire) on the root in order for the tree to grow. First, the buds of the tree require “bestow to bestow”, then the tree needs the root to transfer water and it becomes “receive in order to bestow”.  Without a root, there is no tree and without the light (Ohr hozer) there are no roots. By the same talking, The deeper the roots, the bigger the tree that needs the light (Ohr Hozer) to shade the inanimate and the animate alike. Incredible! And very difficult to put into words!
Jack BrenonParticipantI could not find the hint, so I will take a guess or at least explain how I understand it. To attain the spiritual world one needs to understand it (attain the light of Hochma). To attain the light of Hochma, one needs the light of mercy (Hassadim). To attain the light of mercy one needs to be “Equivalence of Form” with the Creator. The Creator Judges who is in that true state and grants the light Hassadim that attracts the light of Hochma after laboring and praying to fulfil this desire.
The Rashbi, the Ari, Baal Sulam and Rabash show the methods through the group and connection with other similar desire seekers who can resonate the request and obligate the Creator to grant it. Once He grants it, He will be revealed and suffering will end.

Moreover, it’s said that aiding others accelerates our own spiritual ascent. How does this dynamic operate? What does supporting fellow seekers with a spiritual inclination entail? #309069Jack BrenonParticipantI know it should feel good, but ……. it could be overwhelming, exhausting, and draining… I just do not know?.  The image of a few sages sitting in a humble abode around a candle light pouring over old manuscripts and arguing seems a bit more peaceful to me.

Where we come from and where we are going are two of the most important questions in anyone’s life. There are many theories, and I certainly need to learn the Kabbalah view on these questions which leads to answering the question: What is the purpose of our lives?
Hello Giani, I don’t know if you remember me, but I had a few communications with you in 2019-2020.
Jack BrenonParticipantConnection with others using Faith above reason when the ego objects. Faith in what the sages have written about the importance of connection is what I use to override the ego when it objects.
January 6, 2023 at 8:05 am EST in reply to: Preparation Question: What does it mean to connect with others? In what desire are we connected? #308258Jack BrenonParticipantEverything happens inside the person, correct oneself is to start by accepting others as part of you and finishing the correction when one reach the level of loving others as much as they love themselves, or as close to it as one can, limited by the height of their spiritual degree.
The problem is, thyself is the ego that will not let anyone in but thyself. More complication occurs when the Creator gives one an ego that is equivalent to their spiritual degree, the higher the degree, the bigger the ego.
Those who hope for a higher spiritual degree, I hope they also like to work hard as they have lots of corrections to overcome with the huge ego that were given (smile). Do not worry, the work also feels the same for those who have to correct a little and were blessed with a smaller ego. It all depends on phase 2 (Hochma) of the 4 phases of light and how big of a vessel (kli) phase 1 (Keter) has carved for you. It is like filling 10 cups of different sizes halfway with water, it may looks like the bigger the cup the more the water one has; But in truth, each cup is actually half full with water and half full with air and feels and works the same to each cup.
